We're looking for a driven database engineer that can design, develop, support, and maintain complex database systems and ensure continual innovation. We are looking for an engineer to come in and implement Cassandra to manage billions of data points per year. Monnit's system administration position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Position is responsible for maintenance and security of company databases. In addition will oversee development and optimization of new databases/schema/indexes and procedures. This position participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure including new methods of data storage, retrieval, and backup. In addition will keep policies and procedures for protecting data against corruption or loss.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or a related area.

4-6 years of experience

Problem solving skills

Proficiency with the following:

• Windows Desktop and Server OS
• SQL Server 2019, Always on Availability groups
• Windows Domains
• Data encryption / Offsite backup synchronization
• Network Infrastructure

Additional skills

• Familiar with .Net data access to SqlServer
• Implementing Cassandra for modeling and querying of our data.
• Design and implementing Stored Procedures
• Creating and optimizing queries
• Automated backup procedures
• Managing disaster recovery process
• Adding in encryption
• Strong T-SQL or SQL
