Job Summary:

This position is a member of the Optics Post Fab Operations Team, supporting the effort to manufacture optical components used for the Moxtek product line. The Operator will perform glass part cutting, inspection, optical performance measurement, packaging, and other preparations for shipping. The Operator will work closely with Engineering Technicians to receive training and maintain competencies for job function.

 Essential Functions:

  1. Read and understand work orders and production travelers.
  2. Read and understand basic concepts from engineering drawings.
  3. Use computer software to select material for use in each work order.
  4. Use machinery to cut material to designated size/shape.
  5. Handle, sort, and process parts through visual inspection, cleaning, and packaging.
  6. Responsible for basic process steps of manufacturing. Depending on workstation, this includes - working under a microscope, manipulating small parts, loading/unloading equipment, collecting/evaluating/recording test data, working with various chemicals, visual inspection, etc.
  7. May work at different workstations as production needs require.
  8. Participate in identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements.
  9. May be required to work night or weekend shifts.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

    7. Ability to work safely around production processes/equipment and with various chemicals (Methanol, IPA, Acetone, Epoxies, etc...).
    8. Communication/Interpersonal skills written and verbal, pass down, listen, positive attitude.
    9. Ability to work in cleanroom environment up to and including full cleanroom gown
    10. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in written form in English.
