Job Summary:

Work within the X-Ray Sources Development group focusing on the design of high voltage power supplies and controls used for driving X-Ray tubes. Work will center on component selection, evaluation of cross compatibility, and integration into new and existing product. This role is a hands-on position integral to a cross-functional team of engineers and technicians and under the oversight of more senior Electrical Engineers. Tasking will include a wide range of opportunities from board builds and evaluations, to component research and testing.

Essential Functions:

  1. Work well in a design team environment
  2. Research, select, and evaluate electrical components, tools, and equipment
  3. Work with Development, Manufacturing, and Production resources on new and existing product designs
  4. Test and evaluate prototype board assemblies
  5. Plan, schedule, coordinate assigned activities and projects
  6. Participate actively in FMEA activities
  7. Document new build processes
  8. Empirical testing and complete root cause analysis
  9. Write Technical Reports
  10. Train and handoff newly developed processes and procedures to Manufacturing and Production personnel

Management Responsibilities:

  1. Mentor and train Technicians and Production personnel by overseeing handoffs of tools and new processes, explaining design details, and assisting in documentation/integration

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or 5 years of related experience.

Competencies:

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position.

  1. Practical knowledge of electrical components
  2. Able to use schematics while trouble shooting a circuit.
  3. Analytical problem-solving
  4. Analog/Digital circuit design and troubleshooting
  5. Technical writing/communication
  6. Familiarity with the Design and manufacture of PCBs
  7. Familiarity with OrCad or other PCB designer/layout tools
  8. Basic 3D modeling skills using Solidworks or equivalent
