Job Summary:

Work with BSA, business users and other developers to define, automate and build software applications and enhance existing systems.

  • Essential Job Duties:

    • Works with BSA and business users to develop functional and technical specifications for all computer systems at Nelson Labs
    • Configures and or develops software systems as necessary for inclusion in new or existing systems
    • Ensures unit testing is performed and functions per user requirements
    • Develops specifications and configuration parameters for interfacing with laboratory equipment
    • Assists in the development and execution of validation protocols specifically for LIMS functions
    • Works with IT SQL Reporting to ensure accurate and timely data is retrieved from automated systems
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc.)
    • Know and follow company policies and procedures

    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Core Competency Requirements:

    • Solid understanding of object oriented programming concepts
    • Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
    • At least 3 years of experience in software development
    • Database Management
    • Microsoft SQL SERVER - Queries, Stored Procedures, Triggers and Functions
    • Web Applications
      • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery
      • ASP.NET using C#
      • PHP
      • Web Services
      • Web APIs
      • Visual Studio / Team Foundation Server
    • Reporting Tools
      • SSRS
  • Preferred Competency Requirements:

    • Exposure to Microsoft .NET Development using C#
    • Exposure to Web Development using ASP.Net, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
    • Exposure to PHP
    • Knowledge of Client/Server application development
    • Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies
    • Knowledge of Unit Testing theory
    • Familiarity with version control concepts using Git, TFVC (TFS)
  • Good to have but not required:

    • Exposure to Angular, React, Vue, Ruby on Rails, or similar
    • Exposure to SASS / SCSS

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to stand/walk for 5% of the day and 95% sitting at a desk at the computer. This position does not require any heavy lifting.

Education, Experience and Technical Skills:

B.S. in related field preferred, and/or technical certificate in an applicable technology from a technical school, or 3+ years' work experience
