RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position will mainly interact with internal business intelligence systems
  • Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure.
  • Test programs or databases, correct errors, and make necessary modifications
  • Modify existing BI databases and database management systems.
  • Specify users and user access levels for each segment of database.
  • Write and code logical and physical database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to management system or direct others in coding descriptions.
  • Develop and implement database standards, policies, and procedures
  • Deploy database tuning to maximize performance and reliability
  • Deploy database server upgrades and patches
  • Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the business's Recovery Point Objectives
  • Test backups to ensure we can meet the business' Recovery Time Objectives
  • Troubleshoot MySQL, PostgreSQL, RDS service outages as they occur
  • Share team responsibilities for all aspects involved with maintaining a high level of uptime
  • NoSQL Database Administration, MongoDB clusters provisioning on dc-nodes, maintaining healthy clusters to facilitate cut-overs, database repairs, scaling, sharding DR setup
  • Develop tools for datacenter migration automation using APIs for dynamic compute MongoDB Realm nodes
  • SQL Database Administration, responsible for building, migrating and decommissioning
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent
  • 3+ years professional experience working with MySQL
  • 2-3+ professional experience working with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience with Json, PHP, PostgreSQL, Amazon, RDS
  • Understanding of API connection points and concepts
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of python, along with SQL, NoSQL, Cassandra, Mongo and MySQL database code
  • Excellent communication, project management, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to take ownership and initiative on tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn quickly and adjust priorities in a dynamic technology environment
  • Methodical, risk-averse, and process oriented
  • Pragmatic problem solver with a passion for high availability and service delivery
  • Strong desire to implement and work within change controls
  • Ability to effectively document all systems
  • Strong eye for details and ability to spot and deviations, abnormalities, and anomalies
