StorageCraft is looking for a Senior Python Software Engineer to help build out an enterprise class, distributed disaster recovery and storage management platform. The primary responsibility of this position is to collaborate with team members in an agile environment to design, implement, and maintain a multi-tiered application written in JavaScript (frontend), Python (backend), and C++ (agents and services). The ideal candidate is a seasoned Python developer with some full-stack development experience.



  • Software Design- Solid understanding of general software design principles such as application architecture, interface design, and unit testing
  • Distributed Systems- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems. This includes theoretical and practical understanding of scalable compute, storage, and networking, scalability, consistency models, datastore partitioning, and microservice style architecture.
  • SecurityUnderstanding of encryption, privilege segmentation, identity management, web application security, and exploits. Experience with threat analysis is a plus
  • DatabaseSkilled in SQL/Postgres server administration and tuning, schema and query optimization, concurrency and transactions, and effective use of ORMs (SQLAlchemy)
  • LinuxExperience on/for Linux, service and system containers, process management, virtual memory, file systems, signal handling, standard I/O, and troubleshooting
  • HTTPExperience with HTTP user sessions, security, concurrency, HTTP v2, HTTP troubleshooting, and client round-trip optimization
  • RESTExperience creating and consuming REST APIs and an understanding of REST semantics
  • Languages- Proficient in Python; experience with C++ and JavaScript is a plus
  • TechnologiesExperience with gRPC, GraphQL (Graphene), Redis, etcd, and protocol buffers


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 7+ years professional experience in software engineering
